How do you all recover from a bad mood?

I find that what seems to work best for me is to rant a bit, then sing loudly along with music. (Is singing when bad-moody weird?) I especially love singing along to the Next To Normal soundtrack to help me get over being angry. I think it's partly because a now-ex-friend of mine sent me a really hateful email around the time I got the Next To Normal soundtrack, so I was listening to the soundtrack on repeat as I wrote the reply I never sent, and for a change really appreciated the swearing. (Although I still don't say the f word when I sing along. It just doesn't feel right to me - stupid upbringing. :P)

Here's a few bits I especially love singing along to:

Perfect For You:
"HENRY
The world is at war
Filled with death and disease
We dance on the edge of destruction
The globe's getting warmer by deadly degrees

NATALIE
And this is one fucked up seduction

This one's just fun because I love using an overly dramatic voice when singing about the state of the earth. (Even if it probably isn't far from the truth.)

You Don't Know
"Do you wake up in the morning and need help to lift your head?
Do you read obituaries and feel jealous of the dead?
It's like living on a cliffside not knowing when you'll dive.
Do you know, do you know what it's like to die alive?

When a world that once had color fades to white and gray and black.
When tomorrow terrifies you, but you'll die if you look back.
You don't know.
"
Okay, yeah, it's probably weird that this helps. But it really does. (And it's not that I'm depressed, because even when I'm feeling down, I'm never that bad.) I think it's because this show is so emotional, and there's so much anger in this song.

I Am the One
Can you tell me what it is you're afraid of?
Can you tell me why I'm afraid it's me?
Can I touch you?
We've been fine for so long now
How could something go wrong that I can't see?
'Cause I'm holding on
and I won't let go
I just thought you should know

I am the one who knows you
I am the one who cares
I am the one who's always been there
I am the one who's helped you
And if you think that I just don't give a damn
Then you just don't know who I am...

Another of my favourites when I'm angry is I'm Alive. (It's my Ariel song, because he's similarly creepy.)

"...But I'm alive, I'm alive, I am so alive
And I feed on the fear that's behind your eyes
And I need you to need me, it's no surprise
I'm alive, so alive
I'm alive.

I am flame and I am fire
I am destruction, decay, and desire
I'll hurt you
I'll heal you
I'm your wish, your dream come true
And I am your darkest nightmare too
I've shown you
I own you...

I'm alive,
I'm right behind you.
You say forget but I'll remind you.
You can try to hide but you know that I will find you...
"

I can't tell you how much I love this soundtrack. You Don't Know, I Am the One, and I'm Alive are the best three songs to listen to - they're just amazingly intense. (Maybe I should make a car cd of just them, for days I really need to get the anger out.)

Defying Gravity is also a good song for getting anger out. ;D (Though clearly that's another story.)

Let me know if you'd like to see an unofficial recording of Next To Normal... |:|
